Put Tuesday, November 24 on your calendar.  It is
GRANDPARENTS DAY  On Tuesday, November 24, all grandparents and special friends of Roycemore students are invited to a breakfast with their grandchildren and a special program in the Multi-Purpose Room.  The program will begin around 8:45 with all of our Lower School students performing along with the Middle and Upper School choruses.  The morning will conclude with activities in the classrooms.  It is always a wonderful morning!!

This is a full day of school for all students, the last before the long Thanksgiving holiday.  There is no school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 25-27.  EDP is NOT available.  Regular classes will resume on Monday, November 30.

Children in Grades 1-4 should wear dark pants (black preferred) and light tops (white preferred) for both Grandparents Day and Winter Program.  Please no blue
jeans.  Thank you!!!

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT COMES TO LOWER SCHOOL
When you hear your children talking about different aspects of economics, you will know that Junior Achievement has come to their classrooms.  Volunteers from major corporations and from Northwestern University are giving of their time to come into classrooms and talk about the basics of economics to the children in a very fun, hands-on, but informative way.  Look at the pictures at the bottom of this blog to see the first graders creating a donut business.

PICTURES THIS WEEK
1. Thank you to Beth Parab (Ani Gr.3 and Sachi Gr. 1),  Sumedha Mehta (Krishay K) and Seema Gorla, (Pavan Gr. 2. Jahnavi Gr. 4 and Sanjeev Gr. 5) for celebrating Dawali with the students by bringing in traditional crafts and treats.

2.  Our Leader and Me character education program is going so well. I hope you are hearing the Seven Habits at home. One part of it is a class meeting to help the children gain that good sense of community.  Here is the Third Grade having their meeting.

 3.  The First and Second Grade interest reading groups finished this week.  One of them studied Where The Wild Things Are and had a wild rumpus!!

4. The JK kids are enjoying science and art before their field trip.

Finally, a reminder that available on RenWeb is a school calendar with all events. This can be found in the "School Information" section under the heading "Calendar." Please consult this calendar for a weekly preview of what is coming up.
