PICTURES THIS WEEK:
1. All the Evanston preschools and daycares took part in a stop everything and read on Wednesday, Ap.13.  Although our PK and JK children do this all the time, we still took part in this literacy program. Even the Kindergarteners took part.

2. As part of our Leader in Me character education program, the teachers and students have class meetings to gain that good sense of community.  The first graders were meeting and getting compliments from their teacher, Ms. Gobbi.  She was telling them all the good traits that each of them have.

The second graders were also having their class meeting at which two of the girls made invitations to invite the whole class to play a game at recess, such a good sense of community!

3. Learning needs to be engaging and fun.  First and Second Graders are having a spelling lesson in an unusual way!

There are a lot of interesting sites there including the Lincoln Museum. I will be accompanying them, so if you need something, please know I will be gone both of those days.

ISACS ACCREDITATION TEAM HERE SUNDAY, APRIL 10-WEDNESDAY APRIL 13
All independent Schools are accredited through ISACS, Independent School Association of the Central States.  It is a lengthy process.  As a school we created a self-study for every department of the school where we listed our strengths, challenges, and plans and priorities.  We also updated all our curriculum.  On April 10, a team of ten of our peers from other independent schools will descend on the school and look and talk to all of us.  They then will write reports to help us grow and accredit the school.  Of all the accreditations that schools go through it is the most rigorous. I have been through it many times, both at the school and serving on teams.  It is a wonderful process.
